You Can Trust Yourself Again

One of the quietest things grief stole from me wasn't my confidence. It was my trust in myself.

After losing Malcom, I questioned everything. Every decision felt heavier than it used to. I second-guessed my instincts, replayed conversations in my mind, and searched for certainty in places where certainty simply didn't exist. I wondered if I had missed something, if I could have done something differently, or if I would ever trust my own judgment again. When life changes in an instant, it has a way of making you question your ability to navigate what comes next.

But healing has shown me that trust isn't something we suddenly wake up with one morning. It's something we rebuild, one small promise to ourselves at a time.

It begins when we honor our boundaries instead of abandoning them. It grows every time we choose rest when we're exhausted, speak up when something doesn't feel right, or walk away from what no longer aligns with the life we're creating. Every decision to listen to ourselves instead of the noise around us becomes another brick in the foundation of self-trust.

I've learned that my intuition never disappeared. It simply became harder to hear beneath the fear, the grief, and the pressure to have all the answers. The more I slowed down, the more I realized that the voice I had been searching for wasn't somewhere outside of me. It had been quietly waiting within me all along.

Maybe you've been questioning yourself lately. Maybe you've been waiting for someone else to tell you what the next step should be. If that's you, let this be your gentle reminder that the wisdom you need isn't missing. It's still there. It has been shaped by every experience you've survived, every lesson you've learned, and every moment you've chosen to keep going when giving up felt easier.

Trusting yourself again doesn't mean you'll never make another mistake. It means you stop believing that one mistake defines your future. It means you believe you are capable of meeting whatever comes next with courage, compassion, and grace.

Today, choose one small thing to trust yourself with. One decision. One boundary. One step forward. Let that be enough.

Because the woman you're becoming isn't searching for herself anymore.

She's learning to believe herself.
