I Can Trust Myself Now
Share

There was a time when I questioned everything.
After Malcolm transition over, I questioned my decisions, my instincts, my future, and even my ability to recognize what was right for me. Grief has a way of shaking the very foundation you stand on. When life changes without your permission, it’s easy to lose confidence in your own ability to navigate what comes next. I spent so much time looking outside of myself for certainty that I almost forgot I had a voice inside me that had been guiding me all along.
Healing didn’t give me all the answers. It gave me something far more valuable.
It taught me to trust myself again.
Not because I’ve become fearless. Not because I never make mistakes. But because I’ve lived through enough to know that whatever life places before me, I will find a way through it.
I’ve learned that my intuition deserves my attention. That my boundaries deserve my respect. That my peace is worth protecting. I’ve learned that I don’t have to explain every decision, seek everyone’s approval, or wait for someone else to tell me what I already know deep inside.
The woman I am today has been shaped by joy, heartbreak, love, disappointment, courage, and countless moments that asked me to choose myself again and again. Every one of those moments became another reason to trust the person I’ve become.
If you’re waiting until you feel completely certain before taking the next step, let me gently remind you that confidence rarely comes first. Trust does.
Trust yourself enough to take the first step. Trust yourself enough to change your mind if you need to. Trust yourself enough to believe that one difficult season doesn’t define the rest of your life.
You have already survived days you once believed would break you. You’ve adapted, grown, healed, and continued to show up even when it was hard. That is evidence. Not of perfection, but of resilience.
So today, let this be your affirmation:
I trust myself now.
I trust the wisdom I’ve earned.
I trust the woman I’ve become.
And I trust that whatever comes next, I won’t have to face it as the person I used to be. I’ll face it as the woman who has already proven she can rise.

Take what you need. Leave what you don’t.
You are not broken. You are becoming.
